Reading Intervention

Our belief is that reading's ultimate purpose is to foster comprehension, enjoyment, and learning, but to accomplish this, students must first establish a strong foundation in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, encoding, fluency, and vocabulary skills.

In our 60 minutes sessions, we implement the Orton-Gillingham approach to provide explicit instruction in phonics and essential foundational skills. This methodology directly equips students with the necessary foundational skills to reach the ultimate objective: reading comprehension.

With 25 years of experience as both an elementary school classroom teacher and a reading interventionist, my dedication to teaching, especially in the domain of reading, has remained steadfast. As retirement draws nearer, I've chosen to redirect my passion for education towards supporting students beyond the conventional classroom boundaries. My focus lies in nurturing their fundamental reading skills, utilizing the Orton-Gillingham approach to ensure their academic growth and success.
