We are parents of a nonspeaking son with complex Autism. For years, we believed there was more inside him -- more understanding, more intelligence, more to say -- even when he could not yet show it. When we discovered Spelling to Communicate (S2C), that belief began to unfold in words, and our perspective changed. What we couldn't find was a program that consistently presumed competence and supported meaningful spelling growth. So we began building what we wished had existed.
True North Connect was born from that journey.
We are not only practitioners. We are parents walking this road ourselves. We understand the uncertainty, the exhaustion, the hope, and the courage it takes to begin. Our work is grounded in regulation, relationship, and presumed competence -- not simply technique. We believe things can get better. We have seen it.
Together, we are building True North Connect one step at a time -- expanding weekday offerings and growing toward future programming for older teens and adult spellers rooted in dignity and belonging.
We are honored to walk alongside families like ours.
