True North Connect

Relationship-First Spelling Support

for Nonspeaking Individuals

Services

At True North Connect, we offer individual and group Spelling to Communicate (S2C) sessions in person at our clinic and virtually. All sessions are grounded in regulation, trust, and presumed competence, with a focus on building reliable motor skills for communication while supporting families at home. As parents ourselves, we understand how much courage it takes to begin.

What to Expect

We begin with a brief introductory Google Meet to learn more about your child and answer your questions. If S2C feels like a good fit, we schedule an initial assessment sessions to better understand your child's regulation and motor needs. From there, we build a consistent schedule to support steady growth. To begin, please email us to request an introductory meeting.

Group Sessions

Group sessions provide opportunities for shared learning and peer connection. Spellers engage with structured lessons in a supportive environment that encourages regulation, attention, and meaningful participation. Group sessions are available in person and virtually, organized by age and experience level when possible.

Individual Sessions

Individual sessions provide structured, one-on-one support tailored to each speller's regulation and motor needs. Our work focuses on building purposeful motor skills to individuals can access letters, express their thoughts, and move toward independent communication. Sessions are available in person and virtually, with weekday daytime availability currently offered through Kelly. Parent training is incorporated into sessions so families can build confidence alongside their child.

Sessions prioritize:

  • Regulation and co-regulation

  • Structure motor practice

  • Age-appropriate academic content

  • Clear expectations and consistency

Our goal is steady growth over time, grounded in trust and high expectations.
